Name:

SENUFO
The Senufo people, also known as Siena, Senefo, Sene, Senoufo, and Syénambélé, are a West African ethnolinguistic group. They consist of diverse subgroups living in a region spanning the northern Ivory Coast, southeastern Mali and western Burkina Faso .

Senufo are a very animistic society and believe that the ancestor spirits are responsible for all events that occur.

A Senufo bird is a hat worn by men or carried in a procession.

The image of a large abstract bird with an equally large beak curved into its own belly.

According to Senufo belief, the bird represents the dual forces of the male and female components, symbolizing the need for both to ensure the continuity of the whole community.
